Doctors Hearing Care is a provider of services for most major commercial insurance companies, including Medicare, Humana, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and UMR. We are not providers for Indiana Medicaid, or any of the Indiana Medicaid managed care programs.
Please contact your insurance to determine if we are in the network for your insurance carrier and plan. We are happy to help with this.
We are happy to electronically file claims for you, however, it is YOUR responsibility to understand your own health insurance benefits.
Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) will cover the diagnostic hearing tests and balance exams only if your primary care physician orders these tests based on symptoms, conditions, or complaints that would require medical treatment. Medicare does not currently cover regular hearing exams or treatment, including hearing aids or exams for fitting hearing aids.
Indiana medicaid will cover one hearing aid for an adult with prior authorization. WE ARE NOT PROVIDERS FOR INDIANA MEDICAID OR ANY OF THE INDIANA MEDICAID MANAGED CARE PROGRAMS.
Medicare Advantage plans are NOT the same as traditional medicare and a supplement. You must contact your medicare advantage insurance carrier, i.e. Humana, Anthem, United Healthcare to see what your hearing care benefits are. Please BEWARE that many of these plans do NOT offer a benefit. They offer a discount program with only specific providers. You do NOT get to choose your own provider.
A deductible is the amount of money that YOU must pay to the healthcare provider before the insurance starts paying. This amount will vary by carriers and plans. If the deductible is not yet met for the year, YOU will be required to pay for services until the deductible is met.
